  • 1 cup plain or Italian breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Sauté onion and garlic in a skillet over medium heat until fragrant (3-5 minutes).
  3. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, eggs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; mix until just combined.
  4. Form the mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and brown them in the skillet (8-10 minutes).
  5. In a greased baking dish, layer half of the marinara sauce, add browned meatballs, pour the remaining sauce on top, and sprinkle shredded cheddar.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil for the last 10 minutes until golden brown.
