  • 1 cup dill pickles, sliced into ¼-inch rounds
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornmeal
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)

Instructions

  1. Drain the dill pickles and pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. In a bowl, coat pickle slices in buttermilk.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper.
  4. Dredge each pickle slice in the flour mixture until evenly coated.
  5. Heat oil in a deep skillet to about 350°F.
  6. Fry the pickles in batches for 2-3 minutes until golden brown; drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
