  • 4 cups filtered water

Instructions

  1. Sterilize canning jars by boiling them in water for at least 10 minutes.
  2. Peel and slice the pears into thick wedges.
  3. In a large pot over medium heat, combine sugar and water to create syrup, stirring until dissolved and slightly thickened.
  4. Stir in lemon juice to prevent browning.
  5. Pack pear slices tightly into sterilized jars, leaving half an inch of headspace.
  6. Pour hot syrup over the pears until fully submerged, ensuring headspace remains.
  7. Wipe jar rims clean and seal with lids securely.
  8. Process jars in boiling water for 20 minutes.
