Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1.5 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup vanilla custard filling (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with paper liners.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter until fluffy. Gradually add sugar and beat until light.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla.
  5. Alternate adding the dry ingredients and milk to the butter mixture until just combined.
  6. Fill each cupcake liner two-thirds full and bake for 18–20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely on wire racks.
  7. Once cooled, remove the center of each cupcake and fill it with custard.
  8. For ganache, heat heavy cream until boiling; remove from heat and whisk in chocolate chips until smooth.
  9. Spoon ganache over each filled cupcake generously.
