  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 6 cups Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour and salt; cut in cold butter until crumbly.
  3. Roll out half the dough on a floured surface and place it in a greased baking sheet.
  4. In another bowl, combine sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
  5. Pour the apple mixture over the crust and spread evenly.
  6. Roll out the second half of dough and cover the filling; seal edges and cut slits for steam.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown.
