Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet store-bought puff pastry (about 10 oz)
  • 2 cups diced Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick.
  3. In a bowl, mix diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice until well combined.
  4. Cut the pastry into squares (6 inches wide). Place a spoonful of apple filling in the center of each square.
  5. Fold the pastry over to form triangles and seal the edges by pressing down firmly.
  6. Brush each turnover with beaten egg for a golden finish and cut small slits on top for steam release.
  7. Bake on a lined baking sheet for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
