Brookies are the ultimate dessert, combining the best of both worlds: rich, fudgy brownies and chewy chocolate chip cookies.   • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark)
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. For the brownie batter, mix melted butter with granulated and brown sugar until creamy. Add eggs one by one, then fold in vanilla.
  3. Sift together flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder; gently mix into wet ingredients until no dry streaks remain.
  4. For the cookie dough, cream softened butter with sugars until fluffy. Mix in eggs and vanilla, then add flour and chocolate chips.
  5. Spread half of the brownie batter in the prepared pan. Top with dollops of cookie dough, spreading gently without disrupting the brownie layer.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until edges pull away from the sides of the pan. Cool slightly before slicing.
