Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs chuck roast
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 12 slider buns (brioche or potato)
  • 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 large onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Season the chuck roast with salt and pepper and place it in a roasting pan.
  2. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the roast for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned.
  3. Pour beef broth and soy sauce over the roast, adding thyme and oregano. Cover with foil and bake for about 3 hours until fork-tender.
  4. Shred the beef using two forks once cooled slightly.
  5. Sauté onions in the same skillet until caramelized (about 10 minutes).
  6. Slice slider buns open, layer shredded beef, sautéed onions, and Swiss cheese on each bottom half.
  7. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Assemble sliders on a baking sheet, cover with foil, and bake for 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and buns are golden brown.
  8. Serve hot with bowls of warm beef broth on the side for dipping.
