  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  3. Gently fold in the sour cream until combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and cinnamon. Gradually add to the wet mixture while mixing gently.
  5. Pour half the batter into the prepared pan, sprinkle with half of the cinnamon sugar mixture, then top with remaining batter and finish with the remaining cinnamon sugar.
  6. Bake for 40–45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.
