  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 28 ounces San Marzano canned tomatoes, crushed
  • 1 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent (about 5 minutes).
  2. Stir in minced garlic and cook until fragrant (1 minute).
  3. Add crushed tomatoes; season with salt and pepper. Let simmer for 10 minutes.
