  • 14 oz firm tofu, pressed and drained
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil (canola or sunflower)
  • 2 green onions, sliced for garnish

Instructions

  1. Press the tofu by wrapping it in a clean kitchen towel and placing something heavy on top for 20 minutes.
  2. Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes.
  3. In a bowl, toss the tofu cubes with soy sauce and garlic powder; let marinate for 10 minutes.
  4. Sprinkle cornstarch over the marinated tofu and toss to coat evenly.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  6. Fry the tofu cubes in batches until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels before serving.
