  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter with granulated and brown sugar over low heat until smooth. Remove from heat.
  3. Cool slightly; whisk in eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla.
  4. In a separate bowl, sift together cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Gradually fold into wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Stir in chocolate chips if desired. Pour batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs. Let cool before cutting.
