  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 6 pita bread rounds
  • 1 cup tzatziki sauce
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken into bite-sized pieces. In a bowl, combine olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, oregano, soy sauce, and honey.
  2. Add chicken pieces to the marinade and coat thoroughly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat grill to medium-high heat (400°F / 200°C).
  4. Thread marinated chicken onto skewers without crowding them.
  5. Grill skewers for about 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F / 75°C).
  6. Warm pitas on the grill or in a skillet until soft.
  7. Serve grilled souvlaki with warm pita bread and tzatziki sauce.
